Design Concept: Morisseau's Detroit '67 takes place in an unfinished basement in downtown Detroit during the '67 summer of rebellion. We latched onto the idea of this basement being a "repository of dreams" - a place that seems to exist outside of time, where you go to hope, to recover, to escape, to find comfort, to make plans, to chase dreams of a better tomorrow. We sought to ground the piece in reality, yet provide an environment where people could be free to exist without boundaries.

Furniture and adornment reflect the history of this family - while mismatched, it is well loved and well taken care of.
